just listen to anything by this cool cat, you will fall in love over and over.
ps he's only 24.
No one noticed a thing.
Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.
There was no effort.
There was no struggle.
It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad.
It was what it was, and it is just that.
In the space of letting go, she let it all be.
A small smile came over her face.
A light breeze blew through her.
And the sun and the moon shone forevermore…
i have always adored this song. but today in the car it came on and just totally made sense.

so, in case you didn't notice - my last post was in mid december, quite some time ago! i spend most of my days juggling either bowie and/or flowers so it's hard to keep up here, dang it - however, if you want to know what i do on a normal basis at least pop over and visit my work at brown paper design.
i refuse to let viva voce disappear, so until i can find the time - i will post favorite jams i'm diggin' as of late.

i'm always coo'ing over fonts, this is def one of them.
it was designed as a display font so it's not recommended for extended texts. it's suitable for headlines and logos that need to pack a quick punch, no?

this is how i imagine myself, it's a great trick.
i saw this and was immediately drawn to it.
i love how the clothes and colors coincide with the rooms natural elements.
do you think that was purposeful - the insane detail that many would probably just pass over - i see it all, i do.
help - someone please tell me who this fantasic designer is tho...

i love seeing people be raw (& free).
i'm sure you've come across these images before by photographer kari herer, because i know i've seen them at least a hundred times - but really, can you blame me for posting them again? the sketches are so innocent and approachable and then the floral buds placed ever so gently in their perfect little spots make the image just so.
what a sweet little story they tell.
every sigle person says the peony is their favorite flower. just look at these maama-jammas?!

handmade in minnesota; designed in brooklyn; wooden soles imported from sweden and hand-finished in minnesota; color combination is exclusive to madesmith.
there is a floral studio that i've admired for some time now by the name of ERBA. many a reasons why i appreciate her work but i will just highlight my favorite thing at the moment... a brilliant floral/photo collaboration by riley and parker called overgrowth. it's being featured at a gallery called ROCKET in japan and so very inspiring. it has a quiet simplicity that is actually very difficult to achieve, but somehow they have beautifully.
she is also simultaneously hosting workshops while there.
need i say more - i'll let the photos speak for themselves.

this installation was created for the 50th biennial of venice in 2003. it is now in the san staë church on the canale grande. it’s entitled falling garden, and is the work of collaborating swiss artists steiner and lenzlinger.
i touch, talk, and think about flowers so often my dreams oddly resemble these scenes, well - in that way when you wake up from sleep you have random glimpses of something you've experienced in the past.
these gorgeous sari's are by designer Monica Patel-Cohn's line called TWO, a small collection of chic caftans that are made in new york using handwoven textiles and saris from india.
